Our History
Long & Associates was founded with a singular vision: to provide exceptional legal representation while treating every client with the respect and attention they deserve. What began as a small practice has grown into a trusted firm serving clients across a wide range of legal needs.
In 2026, Long & Associates and Williams, King & Associates announced a merger, bringing together two highly respected north Alabama law firms. The combined firm operates from two primary offices: Guntersville (1321 Gunter Avenue) and Gadsden (2100 Club Drive, Suite 150).
Following the nomination of Phil Williams to serve as US Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama in late 2025, the merged practices continue statewide operations under the new name: Long, King & Associates. The firm is led by Wes Long and David King as Managing Members, guiding the firm's strategic growth and client-centered mission.
Today, the firm brings nearly 70 years of combined legal experience with a reputation for excellence, integrity, and results-driven advocacy, serving clients across athlete advocacy, business law, real estate, estate planning, and AI-powered legal solutions.

Served as District Judge in Marshall County and on the Judicial Inquiry Commission.
Stan McDonald
Served as Probate Judge of Limestone County and later as State Revenue Commissioner.

Our Attorneys
Wes Long
Managing Member
Former State Representative and University of Alabama football letterman (1996-1999) and All-SEC Academic Player. Practicing since 2004, Wes brings firsthand experience to sports law and athlete advocacy. He has a strong background in real estate acquisitions, business entity formation, and estate planning, serving as General Counsel for numerous businesses across the Southeast.
David King
Managing Member
A Cumberland School of Law graduate, David has focused his practice on juvenile matters and appellate court issues since joining the firm in 2012. In 2018, he was appointed Deputy Attorney General for the State of Alabama, representing the Etowah County Department of Human Resources in child and adult protective service cases.

Former Partner
Former State Senator and Principal of Williams, King & Associates. In late 2025, Phil was nominated by President Trump to serve as US Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama, with expected Senate confirmation in early 2026. His decades of AV-rated litigation strength and transactional experience continue to benefit the firm's clients.
